About The Role

As a core member of the school’s maintenance team you will learn to understand the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment and how to carry out basic maintenance.

This will include learning to inspect school equipment and to carry out basic maintenance to school buildings – this may include decorating, carpentry, basic plumbing, and minor repairs such as faulty plugs, fuses, light bulbs, and refurbishment projects such as erecting shelves, partitions, work surfaces as directed within capabilities.

There is an opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification (Property Maintenance Operative level 2 apprenticeship) whilst gaining real work experience and a salary.

The course is run by Chichester College Group who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out training. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.
