We are now very interested to hear from qualified teachers with SEN & Disability experience for vacancies at Downs View School Woodingdean and Downs View Life Skills College.

The school age vacancy is for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and the Life Skills College vacancy is for Post-19.

Downs View is an Outstanding SEN Specialism (communication & interaction) school & college for pupils aged 2 to 25 years.

It is an exciting time for Downs View as, following the retirement of the current Head Teacher, there will be a new Head Teacher. It is exciting for the organisation as September 2020 sees the geographical merge of the Woodingdean and Hollingdean school sites and the opening of the new extended school in Woodingdean.

From September 2020, Downs View will have 3 sites:

Downs View School Woodingdean in Warren Road.  NoR 155, 2 to 16 years 

Downs View Link College in Surrenden. NoR 46, 16 to 19 years 

Downs View Life Skills College in Patcham Village. NoR35, 19 to 25 years 

Downs View School in Woodingdean is currently being extended and refurbished to enable all school age (2 to 16 age pupils) to come together onto one site in September 2020.  Downs View School in Woodingdean will become a site able to accommodate up to 155 pupils with SLD, PMLD, ASC and Complex needs.

Downs View Life Skills College is independent of the local authority but is part of the broader Downs View organisation. Our aim is to create outstanding provision for adult learners with a range of needs but fundamentally concentrating on those with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound & multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and SLD with autism.

Teachers may be required to carry out the duties set out in Schedule 3 of The Education (School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions of Employment) order 1993.

Salary: Common Pay Spine/Upper Pay Spine + lowest spot point on SEN range.
